Major Blues Scale
The Major Blues Scale consists of 6 pitches – Root (R), 2, b3, 3, 5 and 6 of a Major Scale. Lacking the b5 and b7 of a Minor Blues Scale, the Major Blues Scale offers a less ‘gritty’ sound. The 3rd of the Major Blues Scale will clash with the IV7 chord. It’s a nice option to add to your harmonic palette and combine with the Minor Pentatonic and Minor Blues Scales.
