Triads

Triads are chords consisting of three notes, usually the Root, 3rd and 5th of a scale.

The types of triads are:      

Spellings for the more common Triad Chords

Major:    Root    3     5
Minor:    Root    b3     5

Spellings for less common Triads Chords

Augmented:    Root       3    #5
Diminished:    Root     b3    b5    
Suspended:    Root       4      5
